I don't care if Monday's blue, Tuesday's grey, and Wednesday too

Well, I didn't get any definitive job hunting done on the weekend. Instead mom and I drank wine, ate, chit-chatted, watched a show about Cirque du Soleil that made me feel very out of shape, and went to the neighbour's yard for beers and a bonfire.

It was a nice escape, but as soon as I returned to the city on Monday all my job/school/life anxieties came rushing back full force and punched me in the guts. I have found some job postings completely unrelated to my education that I will apply for tomorrow, so I haven't been a complete waste of space these past few days.

Monday also marked the day where I gained access to the 'motivation letter' questions for my University of Helsinki Master's program application. There are seven questions to answer, some more challenging than others. I plugged away at it yesterday during my downtime at work (erm... all day at work was my downtime) and got a good chunk of it answered. I've kinda sorta neglected it today out of gloom-induced laziness, but I did see this at the mall on my lunch break, reminding me--in a roundabout way--to keep pushing forward:

Santa's Sauna. Blackberry photo by author.

I sent this image to my Finn, who instantly pointed out that there is no chimney on this sauna, and thus it is here that Santa may very well meet his untimely end.

ditching everything for wine is always acceptable!
