Austria has been a good excuse for me to refrain from going all out on presents this year, as everyone knows I am trying to save as much money as I can for the trip. But I love to give presents, so this year I took my culinary skills (or lack thereof) to my Oma's kitchen and enlisted her and my boyfriend's help in baking my gifts to everyone.
We made several types of cookies, including Butterzeug (my favourite since I was a kiddie), Glasierte Honigkuchen (honey cakes), and Pfeffernüsse ("pepper nuts"), as pictured in the crappy Blackberry pic below. God I hope they're edible!

The hardest part--aside from my disdain for cooking/baking/kitchens in general--is to not eat all the gifts before I get a chance to hand them out. My will power is pretty non-existant in the cookie department.
