My visa application was approved and I picked up my passport with visa at the post office yesterday. This trip seems more and more real as I slowly get everything checked off of what once seemed like a never-ending list.
63 more days until I depart!

Man, your passport photo is wayyyy better than mine when I left for Japan - I looked like I belonged on America's Most Wanted.
That's the visa photo, which I confess, I spent a considerable amount of time doing my make-up for.
Flip to my actual passport photo a few pages earlier and it is like the "before" picture from a make-over.
